Dark Leaves on the KATO Blues FACES Summer Stage – the perfect end to the long weekend!
The May long weekend at KATO Blues FACES ended exactly as it should — with music, sunshine, and an atmosphere that brought people together into one beautiful May evening. On May 3, the band Dark Leaves performed on the Summer Stage, and their concert turned Staromiejska Street into a place full of sound, emotion, and springtime ease.
The weather was perfect — a warm, bright afternoon transitioned into golden hour, and then into a magical May evening.
Dark Leaves took the stage, creating a vibe unlike any other. Their sound — blending folk, blues, and a rock edge — carried through the streets of Katowice. You could hear lap steel, mandolin, banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, along with a strong, distinctive vocal that immediately caught the attention of passersby. It’s music that stops people, draws them in, and builds a story.
Dark Leaves is a band that has created its own recognizable style. Their concerts are full of emotion, space, and that characteristic mix of darkness and warmth, thanks to which every song has its weight and its story. Their unusual instrumentation adds originality, and their stage energy makes the audience feel like part of their musical world.
A large crowd gathered on Staromiejska — residents, visitors, regulars, and those who stumbled upon it by chance but stayed until the end. The summer vibe, smiles, meetings, conversations, people sitting at tables and on deck chairs — all of this created an atmosphere that perfectly closed this year’s long weekend. The music flowed, people listened, and the city lived together with us. The Dark Leaves concert was exactly what we all needed at the end of the long weekend — a beautiful, calm evening full of emotion and light. It was a moment when music, weather, and people came together into one cohesive story.
