The third day of the great blues celebration at KATO Blues FACES had a special character — this time it resonated not only at 13 Staromiejska Street, but also on the airwaves of Radio eM 107.6 FM. On Monday evening, a special edition of the program Stories Written with Blues took place, hosted by editor Andrzej Matysik.
From the very first minutes, you could feel the growing excitement about what awaits Katowice in the coming days. The shared energy of the guests, the audience, and the KATO Blues FACES team created an atmosphere that perfectly introduced listeners to the mood of the upcoming 14th European Blues Challenge.
The broadcast featured guests representing different facets of the blues world — from musicians, through organizers, to representatives of the city: Ewa Matysik, Bartłomiej Szopiński, Wojciech Mirek, Red. Chirowski, and the Deputy Mayor of Katowice, Jarosław Makowski. Our own representation — KATO Blues FACES — was also present.
The conversations covered both the preparations for this year’s EBC and the significance of blues for Katowice, the role of the local community, and the emotions accompanying organizers and artists just before the start of the event. Each guest brought their own perspective to the discussion, and the common thread was a great sense of joy and pride that Katowice is hosting Europe’s leading blues artists.
This unique radio gathering became a beautiful prelude to what is about to unfold on stages across the city. Katowice is living the blues — and the best is yet to come.
