We have another beautiful story we would like to share with you. During this year’s Good Music Fair “Wszystko Gra” at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, we met two exceptional artists: Jerzy Grunwald and Janusz Hryniewicz.
Jerzy Grunwald is a legend of big beat and folk rock, the leader of the band En Face, co-creator of the iconic “Senny świt,” an artist who has played with the best and has been creating his soft-rock and smooth jazz projects abroad for years.
Janusz Hryniewicz – a vocalist and guitarist born in Wales and raised in Argentina – has collaborated with Wiślanie 69, Trubadurzy, SBB, and of course with Grunwald. The author of the hit “Duchy,” a versatile artist who has also been connected with the Silesian blues scene for years. His name has long been on our list of people who create the history of Silesian blues.
We invited them to KATO Blues FACES so that Janusz could leave his signature on our wall and so that we could show them what our blues family is all about. They arrived with smiles, curiosity, and that distinctive musical energy that instantly fills the space.
And this was only the beginning of the story.
The following day, the Łukasz Wiśniewski Trio concert took place. KATO Blues FACES was packed, the atmosphere was filled with emotion, and more listeners kept appearing at the door. And suddenly, we saw them again. Jerzy Grunwald and Janusz Hryniewicz came back to experience this evening with us.
We quickly led them through the crowd to the only place where there was still a bit of space – our “VIP zone,” meaning the area behind the bar. And right there, another important moment happened. Our eyes met Agnieszka. She immediately knew what needed to be done. Because you recognize a good photographer by the fact that they are exactly where they should be, at the perfect moment. Thanks to her, we have this unique photo – another among the hundreds of her photographs that document the history of KATO Blues FACES.
Agnieszka, thank you for your professionalism, sensitivity, intuition, and an eye that can capture emotions before they fade.
And the gentlemen? Delighted with the music, with you, and with the place. And it’s no surprise.
It was a perfect evening in every way.
